Day 1:
Day one pretty much okay for me. Except having to wake up early just to attend 9.30am briefing in the LT.
However, the briefing was kind of clear and easily understood. Schedule are listed out for us and we were told of what is expected of us by the end of the module.
Grouping wise, OF COURSE I was really really disappointed with the fact that we are not allowed to choose the people that we want to work with. So, after going through the "1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4." grouping, I was grouped up with huizhen, DAniel, yijie, rachel and Subha.
It turned out that, those that I was group with wasn't that bad at all. Lecturer, Julian, mentioned that we would have to work with people that we don't like or can't work with in the industry too. So we had to bare with it.
So our group have a extra group member compared to other groups. In the group, we decided to read up on Aesop Fables from http://aesopfables.com and choose 1 out of the 6 stories to develop further.
The Aesop Fables that I chose to use is The Princess and the Pea. And this is how i decided to twist it.
The Prince and the Pea are set to a modernised era. THe prince is a rich man who is searching for a lady like woman to take as a wife. However, in this era, women are independent, rough, capable strong and have their own mindset which turns him off. HE is looking for a delicate and soft lady.
One stormy evening a woman drench from head to toe turned up at his doorstep. The richman's peanut- eating mother opened the door to her surprise. The lady claim that she is a real lady.
However, the pea-eating mother is very suspicious of the woman, she thinks that the woman is out to snatch her son away from her and is also after the family's money.
However, the mother had to put up an act for the son and offered to lady to stay over for the night. A matteress was laid on the main living room floor for the woman.
The very next day, the woman told the rich man that she was bruised by something under the bed. The rich man took a look and realised that it was a pea that was dropped by his mother. It was then that he realised that the woman is a real lady as nobody but a real lady could be as sensative as that.
The mother was so upset that the son have fallen in love with the lady that she decided to get rid of the lady. Before she could do it, she got choke on the pea and died.
